Contrary to popular gaming lore, the original System Shock was not a commercial failure and sold over 170,000 copies over time. But when it first released in 1994, gamers overlooked Looking Glass’s groundbreaking game despite favorable reviews. Some erroneously discounted it as a Doom clone, even though it was actually the offspring of a line of games that preceded any of id Software’s first-person shooters. Other players dismissed it as a derivative first-person role-playing game that arrived on retail shelves just after a parade of Wizardries and Might and Magics. You need for downloading.torrent files.

The beginning of System Shock 2 wraps up the important tid bits of the first games story, so you'll have no problem jumping right in. This GOG release has made it extremely easy to install mods. Just extract them to the 'DataPermMods' folder in the main System Shock 2 directory. The game is many years old now, and because of that, the models/textures are quite dated. That being said, the game has an excellent and still active mod community. From other places on the interwebs:Rebirth v2:SHTUP:ADaoB - Fixes bugs, catches textures missed by SHTUP:The Tacticool Weapon Models look like they can be found here along with the new PsiAmp.
I looked at the wrench zip file, it looked right. (I'm at work so I can't test them.) Might want to mirror these so the poor guy doesn't get slammed.
You don't need the mod manager, just unzip the files and follow the instructions in the various readmes.Note on Rebirth - some people keep linking pictures from v1 of this Mod. Namely the model with giant, obvious breasts. That was a horrible decision of that mod maker, this version doesn't have that problem. Refers to the amount of storage space allotted for color names. Higher numbers of bits mean more colors may be specified. Consider the way an NES game looks with its limited color set, then the way newer games look with very subtle variations in shades.Your color depth for a typical home setup is limited by your monitor's capacity to display the full scope of colors your graphics card wants to output. There are various schemes, but no need to go into that at the moment.

It's usually auto-detected/negotiated, and most people don't ever need to worry about fiddling with the setting. I assume you mean enlarge:) and yes there is! In your camect.cfg file in the main System Shock 2 directory (open the file with notepad) you'll find a setting called:;d3ddispscaled2doverlay 640 480If you remove the (;) from;d3ddispscaled2doverlay 640 480 to make it looks like: d3ddispscaled2doverlay 640 480then chage the '640 480' to your specific resolution ( for example, 1920 1080) then the hud will scale automatically. If it's still too small, try: d3ddispscaled2doverlay 1024 768That looks pretty good and it's easier to see in higher resolutions. Hope that helps, if you find it confusing, let me know and I'll try to help further.
